Marvin Online also known as MiWAM is the Unemployment Insurance Agency’s system for managing unemployment accounts electronically. MiWAM stands for Michigan Web Account Manager. This new tool replaced the Claimant Web Account Manager or CWAM.

MiWAM is:

  • Simple
  • Fast
  • Efficient
  • Visually appealing
  • User-friendly

The Michigan Web Account Manager also reduces the cost of processing certifications, paper and scanning costs, as well as keypunching errors.

The new system offers Michiganders online services to employers and Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants.

Employers may:

  • Register a business.
  • Sign up for Employer Online Services.
  • Look up a lost/never received authorization code.
  • Create or update a username and/or password.

Claimants may:

  • File a new claim.
  • Certify for benefits.
  • Find a saved claim.
  • Sign up for Claimant Online Services.
  • Resolve logging problems.

Both employers and claimants may also report UI fraud through MiWAM.

In order to access all the services listed above, one must open a MiWAM account. Go to the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) website at: http://www.michigan.gov/. Click on “Michigan Web Account Manager for Claimants and Employers” link. You may register as a new user or log in with your existing account. You must have a record with the UIA within the past two years to open or use your account. Click on the “Sign Up for Claimant/Employer Online Services” link. If you have an account from the previous system CWAM, you can use it to log in into MiWAM.

To open your account, you will need:

  • Telephone number
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
