Nevada Unemployment Office

Nevada residents may obtain unemployment information from the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR). The NV unemployment office will assist citizens, legal non-citizens and recently discharged members of the United States armed forces apply for unemployment benefits. Applicants can also find out information about unemployment eligibility and the application process by speaking with a DETR representative. Previous participants can reopen old claims, view past applications and handle overpayment of benefits. Concerned residents can also contact the unemployment office in Nevada to report program fraud if they uncover deception. Unemployment insurance is available to residents of Nevada who have recently suffered a reduction in work hours, temporary employment hours or a loss of a job entirely. Each unemployment office can discuss how they determine benefits and the duration of financial compensation. Information about unemployment services like retraining and job searches are also available to interested claimants who speak to a DETR representative. For detailed unemployment information about claims, participants can contact the office to review methods and rate of payment as well as the possibility of extensions. However, offices and phone lines are closed for all federal and state holidays except Columbus Day.
