Apply by phone: Tennessee residents should call the TIPS system to file their initial claim. There are three numbers you can call:
Apply by Internet: To apply online, you must apply during certain hours of the day and certain days of the week. The system is available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Central Time. They also have hours on Sundays from 8 a.m. until 4:30p.m., also Central Time. Use the following website to access the application for unemployment in Tennessee: https://ui.tn.gov/.

To file your weeks online: Visit https://ui.tn.gov. Once you are there, sign in using the PIN number given to you with your unemployment claim letter of acceptance. Click on the link that says “Weekly Certification, and begin answering the necessary questions.
