What Documents Do I Need to File an Unemployment Claim in Arkansas?

To file an Unemployment Claim in person, online or over the phone you will need:

  • Your name and mailing address.
  • Your Social Security number.
  • The name and address of your last employer.
  • The last day you worked and the reason you are no longer working.

You will also need to fulfill all eligibility conditions.

To be eligible, the Department of Workforce Services considers if the individual is:

  • Unemployed.
  • Physically and mentally able to perform suitable work.
  • Available for suitable work.
  • Making a reasonable effort to find work.
  • Free of participation or direct interest in a labor dispute.
  • Free of disqualification.

Furthermore, a waiting period of one week must be served before unemployment benefits are payable to you.

To be considered a valid “waiting period” it must be:

  • A valid week of unemployment.
  • A week you have claimed subsequent to filing your Initial Claim.
  • A week in which you did not have any earnings or had earnings of less than 140 percent of your Weekly Benefit Amount.
  • A week where all Eligibility Requirement where met.
  • A week for which you are not disqualified.

  • *Provide the gross amount even if you have not been paid.

  • Touch-tone or dial-pulse telephone.
  • Social Security number.
  • PIN
  • Your total gross earnings and house worked for the week you are claiming.
